The Giant Eagle Triathlon offers participants a unique point-to-point Olympic and Sprint distance triathlon (duathlon option too), starting from Alum Creek State Park and finishing in downtown Columbus, Ohio in the Arena District. Triathlon participants will be treated to a swim course in the calm waters of Alum Creek Lake while duathletes run an opening 3k run within the park. From there participants will cycle on a flat and fast bike course that rolls through the pristine Columbus neighborhoods of Worthington, Clintonville, and a tour of The Ohio State University before reaching transition #2 in downtown. The event will be capped off with a run through downtown Columbus, past many historic landmarks before culminating with a grand finish in the Arena District.

Newbie Challenge Is the Giant Eagle Triathlon your first-ever triathlon? Compete against other first-timers in the Newbie Challenge race-within-a-race. Simply check the Newbie Challenge box on the registration form for either the Olympic or Sprint distance to sign up.
Duathlon Format Participants that choose the duathlon division will start with a 3k (1.86 miles) run in the park at Alum Creek. The duathlon is available in the sprint and olympic distances. The start line will be next to the swim start area. This division will offer awards to the top three male/female overall and the top three in all the USAT age groups (15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, etc...to 75+).

Finisher Medal • All finishers will receive a Giant Eagle Multisport Festival finisher medal
Registration & Packet Pick-up Friday from 4:00pm - 8:00pm at the Alum Creek State Park beach area. Saturday from Noon - 8:00pm at the the Alum Creek State Park beach area. THERE IS NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION OR PACKET PICKUP.
Bike Check-in (Transition #1) For anyone using the bus shuttles on race morning from transition #2 (no bikes are allowed on the shuttle buses), bike check-in is MANDATORY from Noon to 9:00pm on Saturday at transition #1 at Alum Creek State Park. No bikes will be allowed in or out of transition without a bike number and corresponding wristband. Transition security will be provided from the start of bike check-in until all bikes have exited transition #1 on race morning.
Run Gear Check-in (Transition #2) Participants must set up their bike-to-run transition gear on Saturday from Noon to 9:00pm (recommended) or on race morning at McFerson Commons from 4:00am to 6:00am. Security will be provided. You may set up your gear after 6:00am but getting to the start on time will be VERY difficult.
Bus shuttles to race start All participants will be shuttled to the start from McFerson Commons (transition #2) on race morning and no bicycles will be allowed on the buses. All buses will be leaving at 5:00am. THERE IS NO SECOND RUN. If your family is dropping you off, please indicate this when registering online so we may plan accordingly. Special Note: Family members watching the swim at Alum Creek may be required to stay until all participants have completed the swim and have left the park on their bicycles.
Timing Chip Pick-Up Sunday from 5:00am - 6:30am at the Alum Creek State Park beach area.
Awards The top three in all age groups (14 & under, 15-19, 20-24...75+), Clydesdale, Athena, Mountain Bike, AquaBike (Swim & Bike only), Bi-athlon (Bike & Run only) and all relay teams divisions will receive awards.
